The Economy and Fiscal Responsibility

Our economy is struggling under the weight of fiscal irresponsibility. We cannot continue to mortgage our children's future with "borrow and spend" practices that weaken our dollar.

Neither party in Congress is blameless for the economic and fiscal problems the nation faces. We won't fix our fiscal house until we elect new leadership committed to change. I will fight for fiscal responsibility in Congress and a balanced federal budget.

The War in Iraq

I will work to end the war in Iraq responsibly and bring our troops home. We must push for a new diplomatic initiative in Iraq and against the status quo policies that are keeping our troops in harm's way. [More detail]

I support affordable, quality health care for every American citizen. [More detail]

Illegal Immigration

I support immigration reform that aids employer verification, improves workplace enforcement, increases border security and deportation of criminal offenders, and promotes lawful immigration. [More detail]

The Environment and Energy Policy

I will be a leader on environmental issues, especially preserving and protecting our treasured Chesapeake Bay.

I will work for an energy policy that reduces our dependence on foreign oil and promotes cleaner energy and smarter technology that creates American jobs and lowers energy costs. [More detail]

Education

I support returning control of the classroom to our educators and creating more opportunities in higher education and advanced skill training.
